Golf Course Maintenance

The Country Club is seeking team members to join the Agronomy Department to assist in the maintenance and upkeep of our classic William Flynn design that boasts two of the Top 100 holes in the country.  Immediate availability for full-time employment with previous golf course experience preferred. If you enjoy the outdoors, the game of golf, and a professional team environment providing skills and knowledge for advancement with the industry, then this is a great place for you. Job Overview:

• The applicant will participate in all daily golf course maintenance tasks with the focus on creating championship playing conditions for our members and guests. 
• Applicants will have opportunities to develop and advance their career in the golf industry. 
• Team members typically perform a variety of tasks with more responsibility gained with training. 
• Tasks include any combination but are not limited to any of the following: sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, irrigation installation/ repair, landscape beautification, skeet preparation, golf course construction, snow removal. 
• Team and project management 
• Hand watering and water management
• Equipment operation
• Irrigation troubleshooting and repair of Toro Lynx system
• Chemical/ fertilizer calibration and applications

Compensation & Benefits:

• $17-$21 per hour dependent on experience

About us:

The Country Club is a private 18-hole facility located on 250 acres in Pepper Pike, Ohio. Known for being a family-oriented club, it provides numerous amenities to its members with the golf course being the focal point.  Famed golf course architect William Flynn masterfully blended the routing of each golf hole with the natural topography to create a gem that is regarded as one of Flynn’s greatest designs, and consistently ranks as one of the top courses in Ohio. The rich history of the club also includes hosting national events with the 1935 U.S. Amateur and the 2012 U.S. Women’s Amateur. Our club will also be the future host of the Ohio Amateur in the coming years. The course underwent a major restoration in 2022 with the guidance of Gil Hanse to recreate its original design. Following the restoration, the club was included in the group of “Restoration of the year” according to Golf Digest. It now boasts two of the Top 100 holes in the country, which are holes #15 and #17. 

In 2022, the course underwent extensive restoration alongside renowned golf course architect Gil Hanse to restore the golf course to emulate William Flynn’s original design. The work included:

• Green expansions of 30,000 square feet
• Fairway expansions 
• New Tee Construction 
• Tree management 
• Re-construction of all bunkers using Better Billy Bunker
• New short game area added to the practice facility
• Installation of new irrigation around greens and Tees
