Equipment Technician
Philadelphia Cricket Club, located in Flourtown, Pennsylvania is looking for a self-motivated and professional Equipment Technician with a mechanical aptitude to join their dedicated and highly capable golf course maintenance team.

We also have an excellent John Deere equipment lease that allows for the rotation of brand-new equipment. The club will be building an equipment technician toolbox so that you will have access to almost any tool you will ever need. We will also provide continuing education and training from various outside sources to help you grow as a Turf Equipment Technician.
We have a fleet of 30+ robotic mowers and are looking to expand our fleet as we are able to expand our electric reach for charging stations throughout the golf course. You will get a chance to work on the existing fleet while helping to expand and build the fleet to also include robotic range pickers and robotic fairway mowers.

Tillinghast built in 1922 and currently ranked the 38th best classic golf course in the U.S.; and The Militia Hill Course designed by Hurdzan and Fry that opened in 2002.
Club highlights:
- Staff: In season 70 employees across 3 golf courses. Full-time year-round employees are 36 employees.
- Maintenance budget: $6 million maintenance budget and $1.75 million capital
- Typical work schedule: April - August are about 55 hours. March, September, October are about 45 hours. November - February are about 40 hours.
- Equipment: part of a John Deere Lease package.
- Irrigation system is Rain Bird Cirrus. 2 courses have Rain Bird ICM 700 series heads. 1 course has Toro 800 series heads that run off Rain Bird Satellites.
- Future projects: New golf performance center, new 9-hole par 3 course, and new driving range, putting greens, and chipping greens.

Initial Priorities of Position:
- Repairing and maintaining all golf course equipment
- Servicing company vehicles
- Will occasionally assist on the golf course and with various projects, providing exposure to multiple areas of the operation.
- This role offers opportunities beyond the shop, ensuring a dynamic and engaging work environment.
Key responsibilities, skills, aptitude, and knowledge:
- Assist with repairs and routine maintenance of all equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of parts, labor, and equipment servicing needs; order parts and supplies as needed when the Shop and Equipment Manager is unavailable.
- Act as the Shop and Equipment Manager in their absence.
- Take proactive measures to prevent equipment failures and promptly communicate maintenance or repair needs to the Shop and Equipment Manager.
- Perform a variety of tasks within the department, adhering to daily production standards.
- Help maintain a clean and safe service area and shop, prioritizing safety at all times.
- Report directly to the Shop and Equipment Manager and support their initiatives.
- Represent Philadelphia Cricket Club with professionalism and maintain a positive image in the field and industry, working independently and efficiently, even without direct supervision.
- Contribute to enhancing the member experience by balancing risks and rewards, making timely and logical decisions, and upholding strict confidentiality regarding club business.
Requirements:
- Possess good communication skills
- Obtains knowledge of safety precautions necessary for working in the field of equipment repair
- Understands proper mixing procedures for chemicals used in golf course maintenance and repair, or understands how to properly find and adhere to those procedures
- Basic knowledge of maintenance and repair to various engine types dealt with in golf course maintenance
- Strong knowledge of reel maintenance and cutting precision
- Basic understanding of drivetrain and electrical systems
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems
- Understands safe and proper operation of hand and power tools
- Ability to operate all golf course maintenance equipment in safe, proper manner with ability to train employees on operation as well
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret information and instructions
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Self-starter with initiative, ability and willingness to be a continual learner, and have a keen eye for detail
- Ability to maintain a respectful and professional demeanor in the workplace at all times
- Basic understanding of the USGA Rules of Golf
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Education and Experience:
- Highschool diploma required
- Valid driver’s license
- Golf course equipment experience is preferred, but training will be provided for candidates with experience in small engine and hydraulic repair and maintenance.
Compensation and Benefits:
- $55,000 - $70,000, depending on experience
