The Club at Cordillera is seeking candidates for our Assistant in Training position. Known for its high level of course conditioning and beautiful location, Cordillera in Edwards, CO is one of the most unique facilities in the United States. From three world-class championship golf courses designed by some of the most recognizable names in the world of golf, to cross country ski trails and access to downhill skiing, to our robust dining and social activities, The Club at Cordillera offers an unlimited supply of endless beauty and recreation for our 850+ members.

Facility: 54- Holes spread over 12 square miles (Valley at 7400 feet elevation, Mountain at 8200 feet and Summit at 9000+ feet.) - Three shops and fleets of equipment
Rounds: 36,000 (over the three courses)
Employee Staffing: 12 FT year-round employees, increasing to 60-65 FT/PT seasonal employees.
Work Schedule: In-season, 40- 55 hours/week; Off-season 25-30 hours (Salaried Position)
Turf Equipment: Toro and Club Car Lease packages, rotating expiration dates. Kubota and John Deere tractors.
Irrigation System: Toro Lynx at the Valley and Mountain, Rain Bird Cirrus Pro 8 at the Summit
Improvement Projects: 2025 Valley course bunker renovation beginning in July, 2026 Mountain course parking enlargement and associated clubhouse irrigation redesign.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide supervision, training, and leadership to the course maintenance crew
Ensure accurate calibration and application of fertilizers and pesticides
Maintain proper moisture levels in playing surfaces and repair irrigation system as necessary
Learn, operate, and train, staff on various types of Turf Equipment
Inspect and monitor the overall presentation of the golf course daily
Winter plowing, snowcat grooming XC ski trail (Pisten Bully 100), snowmobile operation, tree removal/pruning , shop organization, and upkeep.

Compensation and Benefits:

$60,000-$65,000 depending on experience

Preferred Qualifications:

A Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management or related field is not required
1 - 3 seasons working on a golf course maintenance team
Conversational (Spanish) a plus.
Capable of handling the physical demands and work environment outside in various weather conditions.

The Eagle River Valley includes the towns of Edwards, Eagle, and Gypsum. The communities total roughly 20,000 residents with nearby Avon, Eagle-Vail, and Vail adding another 20,000 residents. The ski resorts are the main draw and second homes are abundant, with a large portion of second-home owners residing in Texas and Florida during the winter.

Secure Housing (within 30-days of employment), temporary housing may be available. Typically rental costs range from $1200-$3000 depending on an individual's desire to have a roommate, or live alone, etc.
